It looks like Buffalo is now really getting into the free agency frenzy as well.
According to Adam Schefter, The Bills have signed the former Super Bowl champion linebacker to a three-year deal worth $12 milllion dollars, with $6 million guaranteed.
The deal comes on the heels of Buffalo losing linebacker, Paul Posluszny to the Jacksonville Jaguars, this Buffalo’s second big-name pickup as they also landed specialist, Brad Smith from AFC East rival, New york.
The 30-year old Barnett was set to make $4.4 million for the Packers. Barnett signed a six-year $34.85 million dollar extension.
The 6’2 236-pound Barnett finished the 2010 season with only 24 total tackles, 19 total and five un-assisted and has averaged 109.2 tackles a year since being drafted by the Packers 29th overall in the 2003 NFL Draft.
His addition along with rookie defensive tackle, Marcell Dareus should make the Bills much tougher against the run as Buffalo ranked 32nd in the NFL in run defense in 2010, the Bills allowed an average of 169.6 yards per game.
