Eli Manning is posting MVP-like numbers for the Giants and it looks like they will be avoiding a playoff win every game in December unlike the last two Super Bowl runs.

The defense has been playing well, but wide receiver Victor Cruz has been featured like an All-Pro performer that is posting gaudy numbers.

Plus, Ahmad Bradshaw has been running downhill with authority despite remaining a bit fragile at times since he is being used as a workhorse.

This of course is all with Hakeem Nicks (knee) is still not looking like his old self, which certainly draws a concern.

This NFC East battle has a lot on the line as Robert Griffin III is still being called ‘Bob’ according to a few of the G-Men and don’t forget that some actually believe that RGIII is capable of becoming a better quarterback in the near future.

The Redskins rookie has a long way to go, but he certainly is having one fine first-year campaign. Tight end Fred Davis has already called him ‘Black Jesus’ and any publicity is better than no publicity sometimes.

The key for the ‘Skins without Pierre Garcon around will be whether or not a receiver can come away with the clutch grabs in the second half because is there really a star on Washington that can make the plays?

Running back Alfred Morris is reliable but he is not the one running routes against a vulnerable Giants defense. That is why the biggest weak link for this dark horse team is at the wide receiver position (Terrance Williams would be a filthy fit).

Still, Washington feels like they have a shot in this game because in RGIII we trust and the explosive rookie can keep the pass rush of New York on their toes for an entire game.

Ultimately they should put the clamps down, but Manning is a champion in the fourth quarter for a reason.

He will connect on some huge passing plays down the field to Cruz, and Nicks should finally be able to produce a little more than he has in the last month (not saying much but still). It may not be pretty, but at the end of the day they just ask if you won or not.
