Outside of Philadelphia-Pittsburgh, this is your game of the week with all of the explosive playmakers littered all over the field in this electric matchup.
Robert Griffin III has proven to be a star through four games, but he has a long ways to go if he expects to challenge for a playoff spot.
The Redskins have yet to play a divisional matchup, but the Falcons come into DC flawless at 4-0 and the NFC South is not exactly murders row like the NFC East.
Tampa Bay, Carolina and New Orleans have a combined two wins!
Atlanta already has four and it wouldn’t be a shock if they clinch their division in a month albeit this will be their stiffest challenge of the season.
Still, the South is so bad a loss on the road to a team that may not win double digit victories this season should not be considered a devastating loss.
In fact, if Atlanta takes care of their business at home and against NFC South foes, they realistically could win 12-14 games this season. Philadelphia (road), New York (Giants) and Dallas will be challenging down the road, but that is there only true tough games from here on out.
Washington’s Alfred Morris is a stud horse of a running back that could be just what the doctor ordered for this upset special.
Meanwhile, the Falcons’ Michael Turner finally went bonkers last week against the Panthers which only makes Atlanta’s offense more unstoppable.
Roddy White and Matty ‘Ice’ Ryan have been quite the duo putting together an insurmountable comeback as they trailed by a point with just a minute to go as they were backed up at their own 1. (Note: Julio Jones lacerated hand should be improving by the day although he may still be hindered for another week, will play just may not impress Fantasy folks)
White brought down the 60-yard heave from Ryan and Matt Bryant remained perfect on the season after he kicked the game-winner.
Atlanta struggled mightily slowing Cam Newton down and I look for the same with RGIII despite all of the weapons on the defensive side of the ball for the Falcons. They are still struggling a bit against the run as opposed to the pass, which favors Washington.
I expect a barn burner in the second half with the Redskins and RGIII edging out arguably the best team in football.
