For the Arizona Cardinals losing their starting quarterback hurts a lot for most teams, but quarterback John Skeleton (ankle) is back ready to take the reigns over for Kevin Kolb (ribs, chest). This team offensively has been a punch line over the last few weeks, but this defense is loaded defensively. At the moment, Arizona is 27th in scoring offense (18.3 PPG) and 27th in rushing (83.2 YPG) and 28th in passing (199.8 YPG).
There is no other way around it that this offense is horrid, point blank. They were able to put together 332 yards of offense against the Bills, but everybody can move the ball on their defense.
Turning it over twice crushed them and ultimately the Bills took advantage in overtime after Kolb threw his lone pick of the day. The Bills did not choke the game away and they gave the 4-1 Cardinals their second loss.
Arizona is now struggling to find any consistency on offense with Ryan Williams (shoulder) gone for the year and Beanie Well (knee) will not be eligible to return from PUP (physically unable to perform) until November 25th.
William Powell is the starting running back at the moment, but Larry Fitzgerald would love it if somebody else on the team can make a play outside of him,
Andre Roberts would be the one that needs to continue to go off, but he cannot be productive when the quarterback and passing game situation is struggling this bad.
An a quarterback driven league, it might be important to either draft a franchise quarterback or build one hell of an offensive line behind you. Seattle’s offensive line is certainly better than Arizona’s since many are shocked in terms of how the Seahawks continue to do it but Arizona’s defense has not been the same dominant defense we saw in September.
Patrick Peterson still is one the finest defenders in the entire NFL, but Darnell Dockett (hamstring) has not been a major factor and nobody else is showing up.
Daryl Washington is a tackling machine, but the inability to come away with the crucial stops on third downs and key open field tackle are hurting quite a bit.
Christian Ponder, Percy Harvin, Adrian Peterson and a rock solid defense will not dominate albeit they will put together a workmanlike winning performance.
