Robert Griffin III was the first rookie ever to throw for over 300 yards and 2 or more TD without throwing an interception.
RGIII certainly is capable of becoming a future Pro Bowler, but the talent around may decide his fate at Washington.
There are a bevy of decent backs and receivers to allow RGIII to succeed, but everybody needs to relax about this future stud becoming a current top-five pick.
The NFL is known “Not For Long” and paying your dues is always a must. Cam Newton was able to put on a clinic as a rookie and certainly it is possible for the Redskins quarterback to do such.
Sam Bradford was believed to have the potential since he did set offensive records with the Oklahoma Sooners. A few injuries and a lack of development around his current team has since altered the plans a bit.
Bradford needs Steven Jackson to continue to be the stud he has been over the years, but when Danny Amendola is your top target you might have some issues.
Brandon Lloyd is no longer on the team and the rest of the options down the field are questionable at best. The offensive line has been in an abyss and thank goodness Roger Saffold (neck) should not miss any time after the Rams had a scare in their opener against the Lions.
They were not lucky enough with Scott Wells going down with a fractured foot. Well is expected to miss at least up until early November, which could be an issue for the offense.
Many firmly believe the Rams are one of the few cursed teams in the NFL because no matter what they never seem to stay healthy since Kurt Warner and Marshall Faulk have left them.
Those great days are long gone and the offense is nowhere near what it once was. The defense is a work in progress as well albeit Chris Long (son of HOF Howie) and James Laurinaitis are not too shabby (Cortland Finnegan too).
This is a typical NFL game where the home underdog will find a way to play some inspired football and upset a Redskins squad that has won just one game (people make it seem they beat the greatest Saints team ever).
Washington had decent expectations and they should hover around .500 all season, but a loss here will make people aware that a playoff spot will be next to impossible if they struggle with the Rams.
