This is a very intriguing Big 12 opener for the Horned Frogs because they dominated Grambling in their opener by limiting them to 70 yards.

Despite Grambling being just an FCS opponent, Gary Patterson’s squad will be geared up to make a statement against the Jayhawks.

Kansas is coming off a victory of their own may give Charlie Weis’ squad an opportunity to pull off the upset riding momentum.

Plus, this is an early 11 a.m. kick in Lawrence and it is possible that Casey Pachall and the offense sputter early on.

The main issue is that star running back James Sims is still suspended which kills this offenses chance of moving the ball with any consistency.

Pachall loves to throw towards Josh Boyce, who hauled in 2 TD in the opener and having two solid backs to move the chains should allow the Frogs to get a ton of points on the road.

Matthew Tucker and Waymon James have legit speed and or size, and Pachall buys a ton of time when he is on the move in the spread.

Boyce is a game-breaker that can take any pass to the house, and if KU doubles him up then guys like Brandon Carter will be wide open with Pachall’s ability to find everybody with such ease.

Is TCU for real?

This non-primetime contest will let us know whether or not they are a legit top 20 and certainly a loss would drop them out of the polls.

An impressive victory would not only look great for the Big 12 (OU, WV, TX top 10), but the Frogs could quietly swoop in since they are not even being whispered a potential contender down the road.

They are the ones that host Oklahoma, but going on the road to Austin and Morgantown is never any fun. A victory in Lawrence would make life less difficult and their momentum could carry towards a top 10 ranking since they should start out 7-0.
