James Harrison is once again out (knee) for this weekend’s game against the Oakland Raiders and this defense certainly is getting older by the minute according to many.

Troy Polamalu missed their last game, in which they throttled the Jets 27-10 and he will once again miss Sunday’s contest in Oakland (calf).

Jason Worilds (former Hokie) and Stevenson Sylvester will be filling in for Harrison, and Ryan Mundy will step in for Polamalu.

Many felt Rashard Mendenhall would return sometime in September and that is not the case this week as he is still recovering from a torn ACL last season.

Ben Roethlisberger is accustomed to playing without some of his studs on offense and the musical chair of running backs has not exactly seen success with Jonathan Dwyer and Isaac Redman sharing the workload.

Mike Wallace and Antonio Brown luckily remain as one of the most dangerous receiving duos in the NFL, and Heath Miller at tight end has given them a reliable chain mover for several seasons.

The schedule is not a cake walk, but it is not exactly brutal despite playing the Ravens and Bengals twice.

Defensively, the Steelers are still legit without their two best performers and playing the Raiders has been a pleasure for the opposition thus far.

Darren McFadden was picked to win the rushing title (Rich Eisen) by several ‘experts’ and he has done anything but find produce through two games. 54 yards on 26 carries is abysmal for a star like Run DMC, but at least he has hauled in 15 passes for 105 yards.

Late nights with Carson Palmer have been atrocious to watch although he is slinging it for 670 yards and thrown just 1 INT. The receivers need to a complete shuffle since they all run well but cannot catch the ball in traffic or run legit routes.

Darius Heyward-Bey, Brandon Myers (tight end) and Rod Streater are just a few of the names and they are far from sexy. Going up against the Steelers defense could be a disaster waiting to happen, but their special teams unit always bails them out from humiliation (save the opener) and they should keep this pretty close.
